Desires-song It seemed impossible, not something that would happen. She'd known her time was near, but not how near. She didn't know if the stars would be begin to fall, if the world would die before her time. She was old, reaching her limit. Her limbs becoming stiff, her eyesight beginning to fail. But it was impossible, it was not to be tomorrow, or the next day. Not even today, but here she was. The life slowly bleeding out of her. Would her family come? Would her apprentice? Would she be alone in the world, left to die alone. With no one, nothing.....or would it simply be better that way?~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~The once beautiful she-cat moved quickly, despite the pain in her legs. It was getting colder, the world turning. Soon it would be leaf-bare, and this time she was going to be prepared. Desires-song was not going to wait until green cough hit, no she was going to make sure she stopped it before it spread. Last leaf-bare had been horrible, losing so many cats.
"Its always beautiful." She mewled softly, her eyes taking in the scene before her. She hated leaf-bare as much as any cat, or more considering she was a medicine cat. However, no one could deny the beauty the world possessed during this time. The glittering frost that lay over the earth, the way it sparkled just right in the sunlight. Than the spell was broken, at least when she saw the herbs she was looking for. They hadn't survived, not that she could see. "Fox-dung!"
Quickly she moved around the catnip, her pelt bristling in silent frustration. Her Clan could not afford another green cough epidemic, or worse Black cough. Not with so many battles, the threats from rogues increasing. She needed those herbs. Desires-song was never one to give up, and as she made her way quietly and cautiously into the abounded den it was quite obvious.
"There!" She meowed, her voice sounding quite young again. Quickly she bounded forward, joy shining deeply in her pained eyes. "More catnip, looks like ThunderClan is going to be fine after all." Gently Desires-song reached forward, ready to grip the herbs in her jaws when the noise reached her ears. She froze, her head snapping up to the look at the strange den walls.
"Great StarClan no!" She shouted streaking forward to rip the herbs recklessly from their bush, then she bolted. Her tail streaming out from behind her as she raced for the outside world. Her heart was hammering, her breathing picking up speed as she ran. Please! I must get these to my Clanmates! However it was no use, she was almost there. One last leap and as soon as her paws pushed off from the ground she felt it.
The wall hit her hard, knocking the breath from her body. Pain seared through every point in her entire body, a scream bubbled in her throat. But she refused to let go of the catnip, her mind fogged. Then it was just pain. Searing, agonizing pain. She was stuck, no way to move. The crumbling wall was on top of her, suffocating. Blood pooled around her body, and her vision swam.
"I....can't.....not.....t-t....today." She moaned, her voice raspy. Pain, so much pain. It was overwhelming, never had she felt so much pain before. Never in her entire life, nothing like this. "P-Please.....StarClan.......R-R-Rain......Rainwhisper."

Rainwhisper Rainwhisper was started to get worried, her mentor had told her to stay at camp just in case something came up while she was gone looking for Catmint. It had been 2 Hours now and the Abandoned Twoleg Nest wasn't very far from camp. Rainwhisper sigh put some herbs out on the den just in case anyone needed anything and with that Rainwhisper ran out of camp looking for her Missing Mentor.
Abandoned Twoleg Nest Rainwhisper stood outside the Abandoned Twoleg Nest something didn't feel right but she went in anyway the frost on the ground was soft and cold on her white paws. It started to get darker the father she got into the den Desires-song's scent was there but no sign. "She must have left and I missed her on the way back." she mumbled and sighed with relief and headed back to the front a small groun of pain came from a wall near the front. "Desiressong!" Rainwhisper cryed as she saw the grouning lump of fur of her mentor on the floor of the nest. "It's going to be ok." Rainwhisper meowed not feeling like she could save her mentor at all with no herbs but some catmint.

Desires-song
It was her, her friend. Her apprentice, the cat she wanted most to take her place. Suddenly she felt nothing, as if she were fine. Like she could simply walk away, back to camp. To her life, however Desires-song knew that was impossible. She was dying, slowly. Yet somewhat peacefully. Her whole body was numb now, only a few jolts of pain shot through here and there. And though that was agony enough she felt overwhelming pain. She had so much more moons left in her, she wanted to be here for ThunderClan. To watch it grow...but Rainwhisper. Rainwhisper would take care of her family. Her Clanmates....their clanmates.
"R-Rain.....Rainwhisper,"She rasped her eyes growing larger than tiny again. A moan split from her jaw, as a short burst of pain raced through her tired body. Quickly she nudged the apprentice, then pushed the catmint closer with her nose. "Take....b-back....to camp. Must.....greencough......to...many...rogues.She gasped again, taking in a lungful of air. It felt as if she were breathing through a read, with no other air but that. Not even from her nose. Her chest heaved, her body trembled.
"Please.....s-sorry.....y-you....m-make.....wonderful,"She meowed, her gaze softening, she could feel the blood soaking into her fur. Pushing her down, holding her to the earth forever. "medicine.....cat.....tell S-Smallstar....."
StarClan please, no more. No more pain. It was as if StarClan granted her a last wish for her body suddenly spasmed out. Jerking for a few moments before lying still for the last time. Her eyes dimmed into a cloudy, expressionless color. Desires-song was no more.
{{Yeah, that was kind of corny. Sad too......at least she knows TC is in good hands.}}

Rainwhisper "No No....No It's going to be ok I'll take you back to camp give you some cobwebs and heal your wounds and everything will be back to normal and the next thing you know you'll be teaching me about herbs!'" she said smiling but she knew that wasn't true her mentor was going to join Starclan and there was nothing she could do about it. "Take....b-back....to camp. .Must.....greencough......to...many...rogues" her mentor rasped. Rainwhisper sobbed and nodded. "I'll Do has you wish." she meowed. And let her mentor's head rest in her paws for the last time. Her mentor's fur was soft and nice but there was nothing she could do. Rainwhisper picked up the catnip in her mouth and dragged her mentor back to camp where she could sleep with the stars forever....
